- The winners represent 37 countries worldwide: Australia, Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, China, Cyprus, Denmark, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Oman, Poland, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, UK, Ukraine, USA, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe
- The total of 70 from more than 200 participants were awarded with medals.
- More than 400 exhibits were registered.
- 100 medals have been distributed, including: 41 Gold, 31 Silver and 28 Bronze Medals
- Participants from Slovakia brought home the greatest total number of medals - 15, Russia and the UK share 2nd place with 10 medals each and 3rd place with 7 medals go to Brazilian
beekeepers.
- Tentorium Apicompany (Russia) and Ms Aida ISKENOVA (Kyrgyz Union of Beekeepers, Kyrgyzstan) were the most awarded participants - they received 5 medals each

Ukrainian Night Gala Reception
Tuesday, 1st of October. Pavillion 2, International Exhibition Center.
Doors open at 19:00
Ukrainian Night is the Congress official reception – central Gala event of the whole program.
The invitations to attend are extended to: high officials of Ukraine, representatives of Embassies of different countries, Executive Council of Apimondia Federation, management of Apislavia Federation, of the European Beekeeping Organizations, presidents of Apimondia member associations, representatives of sponsors and partners of the Congress, keynote speakers and prominent figures in world beekeeping, mass media.
A selection of dishes from one of Kyiv’s top Chefs is offered to the guests. The cuisine is fusion, with emphasis on Ukrainian traditional tastes and flavours. This is accompanied by an assortment of Crimean wines, Odessa Champagnes and Cognacs, Lviv Beers, spirits from world-renowned Ukrainian brands and, of course, honey beverage.
Guests will be entertained by energetic traditional melodies and songs, played by the famous folk band “Budmo”, which some of you might remember back from the Montpellier Congress. The ensemble has been founded in 1994 and next year won first prize at on of country’s most prestigious festivals “Pearls of the season”. “Budmo” uses only authentic music instruments, such as cimbali, kobza, bandura, kuvytsa, dvodencivka, bayan, etc.

Bringing news of its latest research, forthcoming products, and smartphone web app.
Vita (Europe) Ltd, a long-time supporter and sponsor of Apimondia, is looking forward to this year’s event in Kiev, Ukraine, where it will be talking to beekeepers about its fascinating new research, forthcoming products,and giving free access to its new web app for smartphones at the Vita Online Zone.
Vita staff will be at Stand A16/A21 and eager to exchange news and ideas with beekeepers from all over the world.
Vita will give the latest news on the pan-European approval process for HopGuard, a natural plant extract-based varroa control treatment, and on developments with the Asian Hornet Trap which by the time of Apimondia will have had its first limited production run for France where the Asian Hornet problem is at its most acute.
Vita staff will also be able to talk about itsinvolvement in fascinating new research on gene knock-down techniques to combat varroa, the secrets of the honeybee bite and on a completely new finding about honeybee swarming behaviour that has been revealed by studies involving the Vita Swarm Lure.
Over the past two years, Vita has been expanding and developing its multi-lingual online presence. Its new web app for smartphones, in both English and Russian, will be accessible online and in a special Vita Online Zone.
