World Beekeeping Awards 2013 official results

  • The winners represent 37 countries worldwide: Australia, Austria, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, China, Cyprus, Denmark, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, India, Italy, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Moldova, Oman, Poland, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Tanzania, Turkey, Uganda, UK, Ukraine, USA, Venezuela, and Zimbabwe
  • The total of 70 from more than 200 participants were awarded with medals.
  • More than 400 exhibits were registered.
  • 100 medals have been distributed, including: 41 Gold, 31 Silver and 28 Bronze Medals
  • Participants from Slovakia brought home the greatest total number of medals - 15, Russia and the UK share 2nd place with 10 medals each and 3rd place with 7 medals go to Brazilian beekeepers.
  • Tentorium Apicompany (Russia) and Ms Aida ISKENOVA (Kyrgyz Union of Beekeepers, Kyrgyzstan)  were the most awarded participants - they received 5 medals each

The biggest event in the history of beekeeping

From September 29th to October 3rd in Kyiv took place the XXXXIII International Apimondia Congress.

During the Congress the International Exhibition Center received over 8000 delegates from more than 100 countries worldwide.

Experts from 20 countries are coming to Kyiv to prevent this danger

The Organizing Committee of the XXXXIII International Apicultural Congress conducted a press-conference “Colony loss can turn into a disaster for human kind. Experts from 20 countries are coming to Kyiv to prevent this danger” on 15 April 2013 in the premises of the News Agency RegioNews, Kyiv, 10-B, Khreshchatyk str., of. 8.

The President of the Organizing Committee, Mrs. Tetiana Vasylkyvska, and the Secretary General of the IFBA Apimondia, Mr. Riccardo Jannoni-Sebastianini, spoke on the International Federation of Beekeeping Associations and on the Congress to be held in Kyiv this September. The President of the IFBA Apimondia, Mr. Gilles Ratia, and the President of the Scientfic Commission Bee Biology, Prof. Dr. Karl Crailsheim, spoke on colony loss issue and the methods of its solving.
